Inter BEE 2007 opens to record participation

Japan: Inter BEE 2007, the trade show for audio, video and communications has opened on Nov 20 across Halls 2 - 8 at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo to record participation.
Inter BEE 2007 registered a record 754 exhibitors and 2,013 exhibition booths, an increase of 21 participants and 127 booths from 2006. The organizers are also expecting the number of visitors to the event to exceed the 35,000 mark set last year.
Organized by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), the three-day event is supported by Japanese public broadcaster NHK and the National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NAB-J).
Held concurrently in the International Conference Hall is Inter BEE Forum 2007, a technical forum comprising broadcasting business, video and audio symposiums. Topics discussed include, "The future of the broadcasting business: Content - What is happening in Asia?" and "New trends in digital content creation driven by technical innovations in hardware, software and networks".
Other concurrent events are DTV Workshop 2007 which focuses on issues and developments involving Japan's switch to digital terrestrial broadcasting in 2011; the 44th Technical Report Conference of Commercial Broadcasting hosted by NAB-J; and the IPTV Summit.
Having started in 1965, Inter BEE 2007 is into its 43rd edition and brings together the best of broadcasting, video and audio equipment, as well as related applications and solutions from Japan and the world. The trade show also serves as a venue for the international exchange of technical information and presents new business opportunities for broadcast, media and creative professionals.
