Sony unveils new XDCAM products at Inter BEE 2007

Japan: Sony unveiled new additions to the XDCAM series of tapeless HD products and solutions at the Inter BEE media technology tradeshow at the Makhuhari Messe, from Nov 20 – 22 in Chiba, Japan. The theme of Sony’s exhibition was “HD for All - Sony unveils the 2nd Stage of its Total HD Solution".
New products included the flagship HD422 PDW-700 camcorder and PDW-HD1500 recorder. Both new offerings feature MPEG-2 422P@HL codec, 50Mbps video data rate, full HD (1920 x 1080) recording and 4:2:2 color sampling.
Both products will be available in Japan from end April, 2008, and add to the XDCAM series which has sold more than 23,000 units as of August, 2007 since its debut in 2003.
