Pressman, Elwes to network at Media Financing Forum

12 November 2007

Singapore- Hollywood producer Edward R. Pressman and top agent Cassian Elwes will be among the wheelers and dealers at the 2007 Media Financing Forum (MFF), running from Nov. 27-29 in Singapore as part of the Asia Media Festival (AMF).
MFF brings together international financiers, bankers and TV and film producers from Asia and beyond. Pressman’s credits include Wall Street, American Psycho, Amazing Grace and Thank You for Smoking. Elwes is Senior Vice President and Co-Head of William Morris Independent, which has been instrumental in the financing and distribution of more than 30 films such as The English Patient and Pulp Fiction.
Also attending will be Mark Byers from Quixotic (USA), who described last year’s MFF as the most “filmmaker friendly” event he’d ever attended, where he initiated several deals.
“The MFF provides an excellent platform for local media professionals to share their passion with financiers and turn their creative ideas into high-quality products that are commercially viable,” says Seto Lok Yin, Assistant Chief Executive Officer (Industry), Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).
The MDA says last year’s one-on-one sessions at MFF with financiers saw funds of more than US$250 million on the negotiating tables.
