Discovery HD to debut in Hong Kong on PCCW’s now TV

Hong Kong - Discovery Networks Asia will launch Discovery HD on PCCW’s now TV IPTV service in Hong Kong from Jan 31. The high definition network’s debut in Hong Kong extends the service to 15 international markets including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Canada, Germany, Austria, Ireland, UK, Poland, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Offering exclusive programs from Discovery’s library of HD content from 29 television brands, Discovery HD provides independently programmed schedules in each market. Discovery’s series and specials add to original programming produced for Discovery HD including Space Station HD, Sunrise Earth, Moments in Time, Monumental Vision and Destination Wilderness.
The addition of Discovery HD channel brings PCCW’s HD offerings to four channels offering sports, leisure, lifestyle and adventure shows as well as documentaries. now TV subscribers can subscribe to Discovery HD at HK$50 (US$6.40) monthly in a 12-month contract. Existing Ultimate Discovery Pack subscribers can add on Discovery HD at HK$35 (US$4.50) per month. New HD service subscribers have to pay the HD service activation fee and HD set-top box rental.
