Bimbom Barkah heads up Universal Music Indonesia as GM

Hong Kong — Bimbom Barkah has been named General Manager of Universal Music Indonesia. Reporting to Sandy Monteiro, Senior Vice-President of Universal Music Group International (UGMI) (ASEAN), Barkah is based in Jakarta to be responsible for all aspects of the company’s daily operations. He will lead his team to develop future business strategies for domestic and international repertoire as well as strengthen local media and corporate alliances.
Barkah takes over from Anthony Shih, who retired as Managing Director of Universal Music Indonesia in Oct 2007. Monteiro was the company’s interim head, reporting to Max Hole, President of UMGI Asia Pacific. Barkah joins Universal Music from ImportMusic.com where he was Managing Director and specialized in digital content.
