UK: Visual effects software developer The Foundry has released Furnace 4 plug-ins for eyeon Software’s Fusion to enhance workflow and productivity in digital visual effects post production. Teams from The Foundry and eyeon collaborated on the development of the Furnace plug-ins which enable digital artists to use the former’s motion estimation technology on the latter’s compositing application.

The Furnace 4 toolset for Fusion was developed from The Foundry’s OFX (Open FX) initiative which was launched in 2004 to provide a free and open-source plug-in standard for developing 2D digital visual effects.

Furnace 4 for Fusion includes functions including Align, BlockTexture, ChannelRepair, ColourAlign, ColourMatte, Contrast, Correlate, DeBlur, DeFlicker, DeFlicker2, DeGrain, DeNoise, Depth, DirtRemoval, FrameRepair, Kronos, MatchGrade, MotionBlur, MotionMatch, MotionMatte, MotionSmooth, PixelTexture, ReGrain, RigRemoval, ScratchRepair, ShadowRemoval, SmartFill, Splicer, Steadiness, Tile and WireRemoval.

Furnace 4 for Fusion is already shipping with node-locked licenses available at US$4,400 and floating licences priced at US$6,600.
