Front Porch Digital and Avid in product licensing agreement

13 February 2008

USA: Front Porch Digital, a specialist in content storage management (CSM) for the media industry, has signed a product license agreement with Avid Technology to integrate the DIVArchive CSM system with Avid’s workflow asset management systems, Interplay and the Workgroup 4 Media Manager product line.
The agreement was reached after Avid received testimonials from three Front Porch Digital customers using DIVArchive integration with Avid workflow asset management systems.
Front Porch Digital offers full integration with Avid Interplay as well as Workgroup 4-based systems as an option for the DIVArchive CSM system. The DIVArchive Avid interface provides transparent SD and HD content storage expansion, material exchange, transcoding, and long-term archiving.
As DIVArchive serves multiple post-production, newsroom, and on-air systems, customers need only a single investment in storage equipment. With its in-path transcoding support, DIVArchive allows for tapeless content sharing and exchange between different workflow ‘silos’ in a broadcast environment.
