BroadcastAsia to return from June 17 – 20 at the Singapore Expo

Singapore: BroadcastAsia, the regional broadcast trade exhibition and conference event is set to return from June 17 – 20, 2008 in Singapore at the Singapore Expo. Organized by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), the event attracted more than 12,750 visitors in 2007, with over 47% from overseas.
A highlight of BroadcastAsia 2008 will be Super Hi-Vision (SHV) technology, which will feature for the first time in Asia outside of Japan. Developed by NHK Science & Technical Research Laboratories, SHV is an 8k system which has a resolution that is 16 times higher than HDTV, with 4000 scanning lines to delivering ultra high-definition.
In addition, BroadcastAsia will again feature HD Xperience in 2008, with demonstrations of digital media asset management (Digital MAM) technology which helps broadcasters re-design their workflows to reap benefits of open standards-based production and archiving. Designed as a tutorial, this studio will be produced in partnership with multiple international manufacturers. Other technologies to be exhibited at BroadcastAsia2008 include tapeless solutions, broadcasting to handheld, digital media asset management, immersive technologies, IPTV, smart TV, professional audio technology and digital signage.
CommunicAsia, the regional trade exhibition and conference for the infocomm and media industries, will be held alongside BroadcastAsia, and will focus on the convergence of digital multimedia technology and the entertainment value chain. Also, CG Overdrive (Computer Graphics Overdrive) will be held in conjunction with BroadcastAsia for the second time this year. Targeting CG professionals, students, enthusiasts, decision makers, vendors and buyers, CGO 2007 drew more than 1,000 conference delegates from all over the world.
BroadcastAsia,CommunicAsia, InteractiveDME, EnterpriseIT, CG Overdrive, as well as various inter-government meetings, are part of the Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX) which brings together business leaders, companies and industry professionals to showcase innovations, network, exchange ideas and tap new markets.
