Broadcast Australia, provider of terrestrial broadcast transmission services, will acquire all shares in Hostworks Group Ltd, a provider of managed services for online media and entertainment companies.

The acquisition will provide Broadcast Australia with a new platform to connect customers to content owners and expand its service offering. It also allows Hostworks to build its capacity and services capabilities as well as access the international contacts available through Broadcast Australia and Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group (MCG).

Currently, Hostworks manages the availability, performance and running costs of the online presence of Australian national broadcasters ABC and SBS, Nine Network's ninemsn, sports and entertainment ticketing company, Ticketek Australia, as well as accommodation broker, Wotif.com. More than 15% of all internet pages viewed and traded-through by 10 million Australians monthly are hosted by Hostworks.
