MediaCorp names Yip as COO of Vietnamese JV, Yong as EVP, sales and marketing

Singapore - MediaCorp has assigned its sales head, James Yip, to manage its Vietnamese TV joint venture, International Media Corporation (IMC) as chief operating officer, and has appointed Clifton Yong to replace him as executive vice president, sales and marketing, MediaCorp.
Yip will take up his Vietnam posting at IMC from April 1, 2008, while Yong joins MediaCorp from March 10 to oversee the advertising business across TV, radio and print, with a focus on integrated media sales solutions for local and regional clients. Yip was promoted to his position in April 2007 from the post of managing director, MediaCorp Radio. Yong was formerly senior vice president, industry and public sector, Asia Pacific, at Alcatel Lucent.
The management rejig follows the company’s 20 percent investment in IMC, which is slated to launch a TV channel in Vietnam in the second half of the year.
