VDO nets rights to advertising packages for CCTV’s Olympic web broadcasts

Beijing – ViDeOnline Communications, Ltd. (VDO), a video networking company, has won exclusive rights to package and create video advertisement partnerships for CCTV.com for live and VOD online channels video streaming broadcasts of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Under the agreement, CCTV.com will use VDO’s O8 intelligent ad insertion network to deliver targeted online advertisements for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games for Mainland China and Macao SAR coverage. CCTV is China’s only national TV network available to 500million viewers on traditional broadcast channels, and is expecting to reach new milestone with live streaming of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in Mainland China and Macao SAR over the Internet and mobile phone platforms.
The O8 Media Network is an end-to-end (e2e) video and addressable ad insertion network providing secured delivery of premium music, and video content including music videos, movies and TV shows to international carriers and service providers. The e2e network offers peer-to-peer (P2P) VOD streaming capabilities that support multiple live feeds with a full suite of ingestion tools for a range of consumer viewing devices. The O8 Media Network supports secured content management with DRM and watermarking, subscriber management, billing and real time transaction record reporting, as well as network management. VDO offers turn key video network services to local Internet Service Providers and carriers, with the delivery of advertisement sponsorships and premium content aggregation.
The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), the administrative agency responsible for Internet affairs under the Ministry of Information Industry, estimates that in China there are over 500million mobile users, and some 200million Internet users of which some 75% consume video entertainment including TV and movies online.
