USA: Front Porch Digital, provider of content storage management (CSM) solutions for media companies, has launched the DIVAworks family, a range of plug-and-play content storage and protection solutions. Suitable for users in TV, post-production, and media-related fields, the DIVAworks family offers advantages of the company’s DIVArchive technology in a turnkey solution.The DIVAworks family includes hardware in three configurations to suit a range of workflows and budgets. DIVAworks Basic is an entry-level system comprising a 24-slot datatape library, a single LTO-4 datatape drive, and a Windows-based, single-CPU server running the DIVArchive CSM software. It occupies 4 RU of rack space, and includes tape externalization and object-transfer utility features. IVAworks Enhanced is a middle-level solution with a 48-slot datatape library, dual LTO-4 datatape drives, and two Windows-based, single-CPU servers running the DIVArchive CSM software, and offers failure protection and increased system throughput. Fitting into 9 RU of space, DIVAworks Enhanced also includes DIVArchive manager failover, tape externalization, and object transfer utility features.DIVAworks Professional occupies 13 RU of space and has an expandable 50-slot datatape library, dual LTO-4 datatape drives, and two Windows-based, single-CPU servers running the DIVArchive CSM software to offer redundancy and expansion for file-based storage infrastructures. DIVArchive manager failover, tape externalization, and object transfer utility features are also available.DIVAworks solutions can be configured with all interfaces for major automation, media asset management, post-production, and newsroom systems. The system can be expanded with optional nearline disk storage arrays based on DIVAgrid technology, Front Porch Digital’s Storage Plan Manager (SPM) for faster access to important content and policy-based content lifecycle control, and Drop Folder Monitoring to allow users and third-party applications to add content to the archive. In addition, the optional DIVAdirector system provides Web-based access to the DIVAworks system, with metadata support, low-resolution proxy browsing, search tools, shot list creation, control over DIVAworks restore and delete functionality, and built-in user access control. Optional timecode-based partial restore support which restores only specific portions of content based on timecode in/out values in a shot list is also available.
