FFV to debut eClips DVR for live broadcast production

8 April 2008

USA: Fast Forward Video (FFV) will introduce at NABSHOW 2008, eClips, a digital video recorder (DVR) for live broadcast production to provide broadcasters and cable providers with on-the-fly access to video still and clip stores, animated graphics, and audio clips for live news, sports, and educational programs.
Available in SD or HD (SDI), eClips provides touch-screen controls, video ingest in real time and video file download from standard formats including AVI, and generates playlists manually or from the system’s library database. At ingest, producers can capture a visual thumbnail from frames within the clip to identify it.
In live production, the entire playlist can automatically run continuously or play out random clips with a touch of the thumbnails on screen. In addition, eClips’ video trim editor enables producers to edit clips on the fly and to build simple transitions between clips.
eClips is suitable for use by TV stations, corporate audiovisual content producers, and users not using a full production switcher or broadcast automation system.
