da Vinci appoints The Media Village as SE Asia distributor

14 May 2008

Singapore: da Vinci Systems has appointed The Media Village Pte Ltd as its Southeast Asia distributor to handle its range of colour enhancement and image restoration products used in post-production facilities in the region.
Singapore-based The Media Village is a system integrator of workflow solutions for data-centric post production throughout Southeast Asia. Founded in 2000, The Media Village also represents brands such as Bright Systems, Lasergraphics and Imagineer Systems.
The collaboration comes in time for da Vinci Systems planned showcase of the R series Resolve at BroadcastAsia 2008. The R series is a powerful new version of the Resolve digital mastering suite, and was unveiled recently at the 2008 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas.
“We are very pleased to partner with The Media Village to help our customers update to the Resolve nonlinear grading system” said Peter Chamberlain, regional sales manager of da Vinci Asia Pacific.
“The Media Village have shown their professional approach to customers over a number of years and when the opportunity to work with them became available after NAB, I had no hesitation,” Chamberlain added.
The Media Village recently expanded its portfolio to include the Lasergraphics ‘Director’ scanner, the new Mogul vfx system from Imagineer and the new BrightClip, part of the flagship product line from Bright Systems.
The Media Village will feature the complete DI workflow at their stand at BroadcastAsia 2008 including the first Asian showing of the new Resolve R series. Demos will include Resolve operating with more than 20 layers of 2K colour grading in realtime from a BrightClip enabled SAN. Bookings for hourly demos may be arranged via email at sales@mediav.com.sg.
