Singapore - Discovery Channel will premiere from June 3, 2008, Fight Quest, a cultural and martial arts series following rookie Doug Anderson and seasoned fighter Jimmy Smith’s trip around the world to learn various forms of hand-to-hand combat.
The series follows Anderson and Smith’s learning, under instruction by local martial arts experts, of different martial arts over a few days in each country, before they fight a bout with a local expert. Martial arts highlighted each week from June 3 include Filipino kali, Chinese wushu, Japanese Kyokushin karate, Korean Hapkido, French savate, Indonesian pencak silat, Mexican boxing, Brazilian jiujitsu, Israeli Krav Maga, and American Kajukenbo. The series also showcases the sights, sounds and cuisine in each country.
