FME closes first look deal for Origin entertainment productions

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has sealed a first look, TV development deal with new production house Origin. Established by David Thompson, former head of BBC Films, Origin will focus on creating original film and TV drama.
David Thompson, executive producer as Origin said, ‘(FME’s) support will help Origin create quality TV drama that will capture an audience’s imagination around the world. And will also play a part in maintaining Origin’s relationships with some of the best writers, performers and directors around.”
David Thompson executive produced TV shows such as The Firm, Shadowlands, The Lost Prince, The Gathering Storm and Miss Austen Regrets, while his film credits include The Other Boleyn Girl, Revolutionary Road starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, The Duchess featuring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes, and the forthcoming Brideshead Revisited.
