26 May 2008

Singapore – AETN All Asia Networks’ (AAAN) The Biography Channel (BIO) is set to debut May 27, 2008 in Singapore on StarHub Digital Cable and on various cable operators in the Philippines.
BIO is the third channel to roll out from AAAN, the JV between A&E Television Networks (AETN) and ASTRO All Asia Entertainment Networks Limited (ASTRO), following The History Channel and Crime & Investigation Network which are already airing across the region.
BIO provides factual entertainment including real stories about actual people and their lives, daily situations with a difference, celebrities going off-script and paranormal events. Programming on BIO includes the Biography series as well as real-life series Family Plots and Flip This House. In addition to original programming from the BIO catalogue, the channel in Southeast Asia will also offer local content, including HD show Little Big Dreams which looks at Chinese children attending the Li Xiaoshuang Gymnastic School, produced by Singapore-based Threesixzero Productions, and distributed by iD Distribution.
At launch, BIO will be available subtitled in Chinese, with StarHub to offer a free preview of BIO to be available to subscribers using the HubStation, digital or HD set-top box from May 27-June 1, 2008. Internationally, BIO is available across 23 territories to 67million TV households. Further, deals are expected to be closed for BIO content to be distributed via digital services, including mobile, broadband and VOD.
