KOBA 2008 highlights future of Korea’s media convergence

Seoul: The annual Korea International Broadcast, Audio & Lighting Equipment Show (KOBA 2008) kicks off this week at COEX in Seoul, Korea from 28th–31st May.
The industry confab gives the broadcasting, audio, video and lighting industry in Korea its annual fillip with updates on industry segments like broadcast, visual and audio equipment, transmission equipment, test and measuring equipment, re-broadcast equipment, camera facilities, CATV facilities, lighting equipment, satellite broadcasting equipment and interactive TV.
Concurrently with the main exhibition component, KOBA 2008 also features a series of seminars and panel discussions on topics of relevance to the industry. The two main streams are day long sessions on Mobile TV 2.0 - Mediaflo Technology and Services on 29th May, and DVB & ATS DVB-T2/ATSC 2.0 on 30th May.
With the focus on digital convergence and its effect on the broadcast industry, the show also features a ‘New Technology Pavilion’ which brings together emerging technologies of multimedia such as DMB, IPTV and HDTV.
More than 800 industry leaders from over 35 countries all around the world are expected to participate in KOBA 2008, testimony to its growth as a hub exhibition of broadcast, audio and lighting equipment in the Asian region.
The main draw of the KOBA show is that it is the first major stopover show in Asia after NAB, and exhibitors are likely to introduce their latest products at the this show for the first time in Asia.
KOBA 2008 is a collaborative effort by The Korean Broadcast Engineers & Technicians Association and Korea E & EX Inc., to promotes the development of broadcasting and video equipments, satellite broadcasting systems, professional audios and lighting equipments, motion picture techniques in Korea.
