Technicolor Asia (Thailand), a division of Thomson, has announced staff additions to pave the way for the rollout of its new digital intermediate facility at its Bangkok location.

Andrew Wales joins the Technicolor Asia team as Director of Client Services. Andrew spent the last 13 years at London’s Technicolor lab. Reporting to managing director, Ian Maycock, Wales and the client services team will coordinate and execute projects.

New to the roll call is Mike Balabuch, manager of the new Technicolor Asia digital images department. Balabuch was previously based in New York where he worked on DI of films like ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, ‘Prairie Home Companion’ and many others. He brings a wealth of management and workflow knowledge to Technicolor Asia’s new digital facility.

Also joining the digital team in Bangkok is R.G. Parthasarathi as Conform/Data Specialist. Partha has extensive digital experience with Prime Focus, Spirit DI and Prasad EFX in India. A new addition to the sound team is Warren Santiago, a talented sound designer, editor and mixer, originally from the Philippines.

“As we get ready to launch our new Digital Images facility and retrofit our existing lab, we are bringing on board some of the most talented technicians in post production,” said Maycock.

“Coming from traditional film finishing, Technicolor brings years of experience into the digital world and the expertise our new international staff brings to the table supports our efforts to offer one stop services providing post production solutions for all of Asia,” he added.
