Al Jazeera English launches in Taiwan

Doha - Al Jazeera English launched on Chunghwa Telecom's Multimedia - On - Demand (MOD) service on 15 July on channel 80.
Carriage on the MOD IPTV platform will bring the channel's news to over 460,000 residents in Taiwan.
Phil Lawrie, director of global distribution of Al Jazeera stated, "We are very excited that Al Jazeera English will be available on the Chunghwa Telecom MOD system. Through this launch, Taiwan will discover an international news channel that cares about Asia, that understands Asian views, and most importantly, that provides a vehicle for people from Asia and other parts of the world to have their voices heard on a global stage."
