50 plus films to screen during 3-day Cambofest

25 November 2008

Cambodia - The 2nd annual Cambofest: Film & Video Festival of Cambodia will take place this year on 26-28 December in Siem Reap, with screenings of more than 50 independent features, documentaries, shorts, animation and selected social issue movies from around the world, all in their Cambodian premieres.
Cambofest 2008 is made possible with the support of the US Embassy (Phnom Penh) and with the assistance of numerous partners, supporters, friends, and grassroots volunteers. CamboFest has been recognised by the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and other international motion picture industry groups as a bona fide Cambodia-based motion picture event.
This independent, private sector movie event is the first dedicated, internationally recognised movie festival in Cambodia. Participating venues include the FCC Angkor @ Pokambor Avenue, next to the Royal Residence, and the XBar Rooftop venue at No. 12, Sivatha Street.
The complete schedule (to be announced) includes movies from: the UK, Somalia, Kenya, Germany, the USA, Singapore, Canada, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Brazil, Australia, Poland, Taiwan, the Russian Federation, Hungary, Myanmar, Israel, Italy, Malaysia and Cambodia.
