TIGERTIGER POST installs BrightDrive Media Recording Infrastructure for data-centric workflow

26 November 2008

Malaysia - TIGERTIGER POST, Malaysia's new DI post facility, has installed BrightDrive media recording system for a new commercials workflow. The system provides a powerful digital media sharing infrastructure for TIGERTIGER POST's extensive range of digital intermediate applications, enabling it to work in a streamlined and highly effective, collaborative environment.
BrightDrive will have 30 TB of storage and will be connected to a Lasergraphics Director film scanner, a da Vinci Resolve R250 color corrector, an Autodesk Flame 2009, and Final Cut Pro editing systems.
TIGERTIGER POST was set up in October 2008 by Sunita Petrus and Al Isaac, owners of Malaysia's leading post house, Superwonderful Films. Having already worked with high-profile agency projects and established a strong company image, Petrus and Isaac aim to offer an alternative to the predominantly SD telecine chains and tape-based processes traditionally used for commercials post in Malaysia.
They launched TIGERTIGER POST utilising workflows based on BrightDrive media recording systems to benefit from cost and time efficiencies achieved through data-centric processes, and also to profit from new formats such as HD, RED and P2. The company has already completed five commercials projects and is now scanning and color grading for several local feature films.
"Using BrightDrive media recording as the heart of our data-centric workflow will give greater creative freedom, with instant access to scanned or imported material from all the creative workstations," said Petrus, owner of TIGERTIGER.
"BrightDrive is easy to use, reliable and will enable our operators to work together in a very flexible environment."
The system was supplied by The Media Village, Singapore, Bright Systems' business partner for SE Asia. The Media Village will also provide first-line support and after-sales services.
