Phuket Film Festival 2009 to highlight Taiwanese films
18 March 2009
Bangkok - The Phuket Film Festival 2009 will feature a section called Spotlight on Taiwanese Film. The 2nd edition of the festival will run 4 - 11 June 2009 at the Coliseum Theaters on the resort island of Phuket, Thailand.
Aside from screening award winning Taiwanese films; directors, producers and actors from Taiwan will be attending the festival. Among them are Fen Fen Cheng (Keeping Watch), Liin Jing-Jie (The Most Distant Course), En Chen (Island Etude), Lin Yu-Hsien (Sumimasen Love) and Kuo Chen-ti (Step by Step).
Producers Patrick Mao Huang and James Liu will also attend the festival. The Spotlight on Taiwanese Film is being held in line with the festival’s goal to "diversify cultural activities" on Phuket and to mark the growth of the Taiwanese film industry for film lovers around the world.
