Broadcast Asia 2009 takes Journey Forward

1 May 2009

BroadcastAsia returns this year with the theme "Digital: The Journey Forward", underlining the event's broad embrace of both the television broadcasting and the internet technical platforms.
The 14th edition of BroadcastAsia will act as a one-stop sourcing platform for the broadcast and media industry, offering an effective avenue for exhibitors to promote and achieve visibility for their products and solutions, at the same time network with their customers from across the Asia Pacific region.
"BroadcastAsia is known as a key platform where the best and latest in digital media and broadcasting are launched. The event still remains as the most relevant exhibition and conference in Asia for up-and-comings trends," said Calvin Koh, senior project manager of the show's organiser Singapore Exhibition Services (SES).
Koh is confident that turnout at the event will continue to be impressive despite the economic downturn.
"Asia is expected to experience a more rapid economic recovery as compared to other regions. In addition, tighter travel budgets mean that significant numbers of trade professionals in the region will be opting to attend a comprehensive regional event such as BroadcastAsia 2009, and forgoing smaller, specialised events as well as events held in Europe and North America," he explained.
"With many exciting trends and the focus on the user experience, BroadcastAsia 2009 looks set to make an impact once again, and be the place where industry players and professionals can network and exchange ideas."
BroadcastAsia 2009 will feature key technologies that draw huge interest and demand from the market. These include Broadcast-to-Handheld/Mobile TV, Digital Media Asset Management, High-Definition Technology, IPTV, Mobile Broadcasting and Professional Audio Technology.
Featured for the first time at BroadcastAsia 2009 is Digital Signage, which reflects the growing global demands of the retail, hospitality, transportation and entertainment industries for a dynamic medium to captivate their audiences.
A form of electronic display that is installed in public spaces, Digital Signage is set to replace the conventional printed posters with state-of-the-art digital display panels. The Digital Signage cluster will feature leading exhibitors including display devices makers, network solution providers and management software enablers.
