BrightDrive G2 file-based recording system makes Asian debut

Bright Systems, Inc. held the Asia launch of its next- generation BrightDrive G2 File-Based Recording System at Broadcast Asia 2009. The new system, which now incorporates Bright's acclaimed BrightClip Recording Technology, offers superior workflow efficiency and stability by eliminating performance maintenance downtime caused by data randomization.
BrightDrive G2 delivers unlimited streams of real-time film and video up to 4K resolution allowing teams of creative professionals to access, share and work on the same media files concurrently. This means that even with the most complex projects, facility managers no longer need to spend time copying files between applications or waiting for individual processes to be finished before media can proceed through the workflow.
Users also gain significant business-level benefits including lower operating costs, by eliminating the need for localized storage and eradicating lengthy and unpredictable performance maintenance routines that would otherwise be required to maintain production-quality operations.
The result of an intensive 3-year development program, BrightClip Recording Technology permanently overcomes the limitations of IT-oriented approaches to recording such as NAS and SAN where media files become naturally randomized during the course of normal production operations. This randomization causes erratic and degrading system performance, frequently bringing projects to a standstill and adversely affecting revenues and facility reputation.

BrightDrive G2 is on display at Hall 8, booth M4-01 together with The Media Village, Singapore. An easy upgrade path is also in place for existing BrightDrive customers.
