9 November 2009
Los Angeles - Emperor Motion Pictures’ (EMP) much-awaited crime thriller Stool Pigeon announced new equity participation from Chinese media conglomerate Huayi Brothers Media Corporation.
Huayi Brothers will come on board the production as producer and will handle sales for mainland China. Stool Pigeon is the follow-up to EMP’s 2009 sleeper hit The Beast Stalker and renews the collaboration between director Dante Lam Chiu-yin and his stars Nick Cheung Ka-fai and Nicholas Tse Ting-fung.
Stool Pigeon, currently shooting in Hong Kong, will see Cheung as a cop working with an ex-con turned police informant who tries to infiltrates the triads.
“We are very excited to welcome Huayi Brothers on board Stool Pigeon. Huayi Brother and EMP have worked together well on The Message and are currently collaborating on our blockbuster Shaolin. This new collaboration is a strong testimony to the growing ties between the two companies,” said Mr Albert Lee, chief executive office of EMP. Stool Pigeon is slated for a summer 2010 release.
