Channel NewsAsia lauded at New York TV and film awards

Singapore - Channel NewsAsia bagged one Gold World Medal and three Bronze World Medals at the 2010 New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards.
The network’s “Life After People” took home the gold in the Information/Magazine Programme Promotion category. It also bagged bronze awards for “All-Day Business News Promo” in the News Promotion Category, “Scene City: Singapore - Living Spaces” in the Educational/Instructional category and “It’s Organic” in the Environment and Ecology category.
In a press statement Channel NewsAsia managing director Debra Soon said, “I am very proud of the wins by the team this year, particularly as it was a very challenging year financially for all broadcasters around the world. Our creative and programming talents were able to continue to commission, produce and deliver world class, award winning products, and contribute to the ongoing success of Channel NewsAsia. This win will spur us on to achieve even more.”
The Awards recognizes ”the World’s Best Work” in news, documentary, information and entertainment programmes as well as music videos, informercials, promotion spots, openings and IDs. It attracts entries from more than 30 countries.
