Digital Vision eyes bigger market share with Nucoda Compose and Fuse

16 June 2010

Singapore - With the launch of Nucoda Compose and Nucoda Fuse, Digital Vision hopes that these entry-level products will help the company reach a wider market.

Prices for Nucoda Compose, a project preparation and delivery station, starts at US$10,000, while grading and finishing station, Nucoda Fuse, is priced at US$45,000 and above.

Speaking to Asia Image at the BroadcastAsia event, Simon Cuff, chief technology officer and UK general manager for Digital says that with Fuse’s new features, the company managed to place 350 pre-orders at the recent NAB conference. Fuse’s new features include ALE export and support for ARRI Alexa camera.

The Asia Pacific region, which includes Japan, India and Australia, is estimated to make up 25% of the company’s total business, and is something which Cuff says Digital Vision is keen to expand on.

But within the Southeast Asia region, Cuff says solutions for film and commercials have been the company’s mainstay. "We haven’t made quite the penetration in broadcast yet. Maybe that will come as the second phase, than say Europe where our broadcast tools are very popular."

However, the company has recently signed on two new customers such as Digit Digit and Post Production Office in Hong Kong.
