Smaller is better for new Sony Electronics switcher
16 June 2010
Singapore - Sony Electronics is showcasing its DFS-900M at BroadcastAsia, a compact multi-format production switcher designed for use in smaller studios.
According to Sony, the DFS-900M is ideal for use in OB vans, education, governments and houses of worship.
Bursting with features in a small, ergonomic package, the DFS-900M makes it easy to interface with HD cameras and other studio equipment, with HD SDI available throughout.
The DFS-900M works natively in HD for pristine quality productions but is equally at home in SD, available in either 1M/E or 1.5M/E configurations, selectable by panel choice. It features a 3RU compact processor with optional redundant power supply, expandable to 24-inputs and 12-outputs of HD/SD-SDI, or optional input/output for DVI and Analog video. It also offers 4 keyers (Chroma key standard) + 2 DSK, up to 6 channels of 3D DVE (including warp), 4 channels of frame memory (video and key pairs), and up to 2 sets of multi viewer outputs that can display 4,10, or 16 screens.
The DFS-900M will be available in September 2010 in Asia Pacific.
