DeAngelis Group develops Titanic TV series

19 July 2010

Los Angeles - The DeAngelis Group (DAP), RAI Italy, Future Films UK, Play Productions France, the Irish Film Authority in Ireland, Wilshire Films USA, and The Fremantle Corporation are collaborating on the production of the landmark 12-hour television series, Titanic: The Untold Story of How it All Began. Conceived by Fabrizio Del Noce, the series tells the fascinating story of the birth of the world’s greatest ship. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in May 2011 in Ireland where Titanic was built, with delivery in 2012 to coincide with the 100-year anniversary of Titanic’s maiden voyage.

Said Guido De Angelis, president of DAP, “In addition to the international partners already committed, we are also in negotiations with two major German networks and we anticipate additional broadcasters to sign on very soon.”

The history of Titanic has enthralled the world unlike any other shipwreck ever known. Titanic: The Untold Story of How it All Began journeys back to 1897 when the planning and the construction of the massive luxury liner first started. Audiences will hear the remarkable stories of the army of people involved in the planning, design and building of the “unsinkable” vessel, and those who died during the 15-year period it took to create it. The Titanic TV series will show the intrigues, the human relationships, love stories, betrayal, the dreams of a few and the death of many.
