Telkom Indonesia to launch IPTV

Telkom Indonesia is aiming to launch IPTV services this September, reports local news website detik Finance.

The IPTV service will initially be offered in the five cities of Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya, according to the reports. The telco has reportedly invested US$ 111mn in developing its fixed-line network for delivery of the service.

Telkom Indonesia has also budgeted around US$ 10mn to US$ 15mn for investment in the acquisition of content, which will be entrusted to its subsidiary Telkomvision, according to the reports.
