Syfy acquires third season of Merlin from FremantleMedia Enterprises
23 August 2010
New York - Syfy announced the acquisition from FremantleMedia Enterprises of the third season of the Merlin series, which will make its US television premiere on Syfy in early 2011.
Merlin returns with a host of brand new guest stars joining the popular regular cast to enthral audiences over the 13 week run. In this third season, there is a familiar blend of magic, monsters and mayhem, but when misbegotten secrets are exposed and old friends choose new sides, it is clear that the kingdom of Camelot will never be the same again.
FME holds the exclusive distribution, home entertainment and licensing rights to Merlin (known as The Adventures of Merlin in the rest of the world outside the US and UK) and has sold the series to over 52 broadcasters in more than 180 countries including Network Ten in Australia, MICO in Japan and RTL in Germany.
This third season of Merlin will air in the UK on BBC One in September.
