CASBAA brings hope to 5,657 children in Masbate, Philippines
23 August 2010
Hong Kong - CASBAA announced its partnership with the global children’s charity Plan International to give 5,657 needy children a chance at a better life in Masbate, one of the top 10 poorest provinces in the Philippines.
CASBAA’s CSR initiative will bring lasting improvement to the lives of pre-school children in Masbate, bringing health care, protection, education and teaching long term life skills.
According to the Philippine government’s data, Masbate ranks second to last in the Bicol region of the country on school achievement. CASBAA will support a series of campaigns developed by Plan International, including ‘Supervised Neighbourhood Play’ and ‘Enhancing Learning Competence and Life Skills’ to give these children the chance to learn and grow.
CASBAA is committed to unlock the poverty traps of 5,657 children in Masbate by raising over US$75,000 through auctions, donations and raffle sales at the annual CASBAA Charity Ball, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong, on October 28, sponsored by Turner (Presenting Sponsor) and MGM Channel (Bar Sponsor).
