1 September 2007

USA / India: Indian facility Filmlab has purchased two IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scanners from Imagica Technologies Corp. to drive the company's expansion into digital intermediate (DI) services.
The IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scanners will be part of Filmlab's DI and film restoration workflows at its new Mumbai-based digital facility located in the hub of the Hindi film industry in the Goregaon region to provide services for Indian and international feature film and commercial projects.
The IMAGER XE Advanced Plus scans 35mm motion picture film at scan rates of 1.9 seconds per frame for 4K and 1.3 seconds per frame for 2K. 35mm 3-perf, 16mm and Super 16mm are also available as options. In addition, Imagica recently rolled out a Wetgate option that reduces the cost of dust and scratch removal for restoration and remastering projects.
