Bright Systems’ BrightClip showcased at NAB Show 2008

Las Vegas: Bright Systems Inc., developer of disk recording and data infrastructure technology, demonstrated its new BrightClip intelligent data recording technology at NAB Show 2008. Along with BrightClip, da Vinci’s Resolve digital mastering suite and Revival restoration system were also presented.

BrightClip provides superior disk recording and media playback by eliminating the need for disk optimisation. BrightClip uses advanced technology to ensure media is laid out logically onto the disks. BrightClip is a new technology, specifically catering to the film and video industry, which improves stability as well as use of resources.

“By integrating BrightClip into our product line, we are providing customers with increased predictability and performance,” said Bill Robertson, general manager of da Vinci Systems. Other developers supporting BrightClip include ARRI Film and TV and Thomson Grass Valley.

“Before BrightClip, systems had to be ‘kludged’ together with multiple storage pools, paper access systems and a lot of waiting. With BrightClip, everything can run into the system as fast as the operators can ingest it,” stated James Brooks, development manager of Drastic Technologies.

BrightClip can be set up for applications either directly through API, or indirectly through an administrative interface.
