Broadcast India 2009 goes beyond expectations
The 19th edition of Broadcast India saw visitors pour in from across the world to experience the latest innovations in products, technology and services related to the media and broadcast industry. More than 500 companies from 31 countries were represented across 60.000 sq. ft. of exhibition space.
The show was held from 29-31 October 2009 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The Broadcast India Conference, which was held from 29-30 October, covered a wide range of topics on television, film, audio, radio, animation and visual effects.
Among the exhibitors, VTI showcased its latest developments in the P2 and AVCCAM format with complete workflow solutions from Panasonic, top of the line, multi standard HDTV EPF Hitachi Cameras and cost effective digital video solutions by Datavideo.
Harris demonstrated for the first time in India the new Videotek Compact Monitor series (CMN-41 and CMN-91) for testing signal integrity across all DTV broadcast signal formats up to 3 Gb/s in a half-rack, energy-saving design.
Vizrt introduced, new versions of Vizrt’s Viz Artist animation and visual effects creation design tool, Viz Content Pilot template-based graphics system, Viz Multichannel channel branding software.
Monarch Innovative Technologies Pvt. Ltd. showcased the Mario Award winning Virtuoso 200/500 SD and Virtuoso 2000 HD (Trackless Virtual Studio Solution), enabling broadcasters to deliver sophisticated presentations for news, talk shows, game shows and many other application possibilities.
Benchmark showcased Assimilate Inc.’s Scratch, the latest version of the Scratch Digital Process Solution as well as the Scratch Stereoscopic 3D Workflow. SGO’s Mistika –
Timeline based editing solution and HS-ART’s Diamant software solution for automatic, semi-automatic and manual film restoration for the professional market.
Avid launched the Media Composer 4.0.2, the latest version of the Avid DS and Interplay 2.0 which also featured the end-to-end broadcast workflow.
ARRI displayed the new ARRI digital camera body based around a revolutionary CMOS sensor of greater latitude and dynamic range. Various ARRI accessories including the MB-29 matte boxes and the Controlled Lens Motor CLM-3 were also on display.
Service Vision demonstrated Scorpio products, from the renowned stabilised head, to the latest and telescopic crane on the market, the Scorpio 23’. Daxco Digital brought the Digital Film Recorder – DEFINITY from CCG and GoldenEye Digital Film Scanner from Image Systems.
Making its Broadcast India debut was Mark Roberts Motion Control showcasing products including the Milo, Cyclops, Talos, Modula, Ulti-head, SFH-30 head, stereoscopic filming modules, virtual set encoding, software and countless bespoke and precision equipment for the broadcast and filming industry.
Visitors to the show also got a chance to see the technology used in the newly released film Ali Baba on Motion Analysis stand. A Raptor-4 camera motion capture system was set up and a demonstration of live real-time motion capture was presented.
P+S Technik displayed the Sl-2K Digital Cinema Camera System, a full 2K resolution 2/3” CMOS single sensor camera, developed in cooperation with Silicon Imaging as well as the SEISSCAM HS-2 Digital Highspeed Camera, a digital stand-alone full format Super35 CMOS sensor high-speed camera for slow motion picture and special effects in commercial and sport shots.
Broadcast India 2010 will be held from 21-23 October, 2010 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (E), Mumbai, India.
