Cinema EOS C300 debuts in Asia

Canon Singapore showcased the Cinema EOS System in Asia for the first time as part of the Cinema EOS South East Asia Tour with Vincent Laforet, which will also cover Indonesia and Thailand. The second leg of the tour will cover India.

The Cinema EOS system, which includes the Cinema EOS C300 digital film camera, aims to empower filmmakers to fully explore their creativity, in line with the Cinema EOS theme – “Leave no story untold”.

Pulitzer Prize–winning photographer, Vincent Laforet, will showcase the Canon EOS C300 during his visit to South East Asia. He will share his experiences in making the transition from photography to film with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Laforet will also talk about his latest short film Mobius, and share behind–the-scenes footage featuring him using the latest Canon EOS C300 professional digital cinema camera.

Andrew Koh, Senior Director & General Manager of Canon Consumer Imaging & Information Products Group, said, “With the new Cinema EOS System making its foray into Hollywood, we believe that filmmakers in Asia will also benefit greatly from our new digital cinematography system, which is designed specifically for the motion picture industry.”

The Canon Cinema EOS System, which was first launched in Hollywood on 3 November 2011, introduces the EOS C300/C300 PL interchangeable-lens digital video camcorder, equipped with a Super 35-mm-equivalent CMOS sensor. Canon also introduces seven new 4K-ready EF Cinema Lenses — four zoom lenses and three fixed-focal-length models, which complement the company’s current diverse lineup of interchangeable EF lenses for EOS SLR cameras.
