Grass Valley highlights multi-platform HD production and distribution efficiency at BroadcastAsia
Singapore - Streamlining workflows and the efficient repurposing and multi-platform distribution of content will be the main focus of the Grass Valley exhibit at BroadcastAsia. Grass Valley will show users how they can implement file-based production processes and also how they can produce and distribute content quickly and efficiently with the same or fewer resources.
In many cases, the Grass Valley technologies on display will facilitate sending content to a variety of distribution platforms with the same content that users are producing for a linear TV channel, in order to increase revenue.
A comprehensive “real world” workflow exhibit at BroadcastAsia will feature a number of Grass Valley’s most popular products, including the Stratus media workflow application suite, the 3G digital triax camera transmission system, and the K2 Dyno Replay System linked to a K2 Summit media server-based storage area network (SAN).
Stratus is the next step in the continuing evolution of Grass Valley software for the entertainment, playout, and news markets as well as a unique and exciting new concept in combining production tools, device control, and asset management into a single, highly configurable multitasking user interface. The ultra-modern Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) at the foundation of Stratus guarantees high-performance and a highly configurable user experience. This software architecture allows the creation of a varied and growing set of functional tools (as service modules), each providing a specific basic function. STRATUS allows these basic building blocks to be used in an almost infinite number of combinations.
The 3G Triax camera transmission system is a member of our flexible, fully digital 3G Transmission family of products. The 3G Transmission family has been developed with the future in mind and offers maximum flexibility while helping to minimize operational costs. 3G Triax is the world's first and only triax system that delivers all HD video formats: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, from the base station.
This SAN demonstration will also support K2 Dyno Production Assistant software managing content and highlight clips being produced with a Kayenne XL production switcher, part of the Kayak HD family, and an Edius HD editing workstation with signals distributed using a Trinix NXT router. The expanding line of GeckoFlex signal processing cards will complete the display.
In another part of the exhibit booth, Grass Valley will demonstrate the latest version of its MediaFUSE Content Re-purposing and Multi-distribution System, a hardware and software platform that facilitates faster turn-around time for getting content to the Web and mobile devices for multi-device live streaming channels and on-demand delivery.
