Masstech puts Emerald and Topaz on display at BroadcastAsia

Singapore - Masstech is showcasing the new Emerald version 7.5 Lite Edition and Topaz v7.5.1 at BroadcastAsia2011.

“This year we’ll be using BroadcastAsia as a platform to launch our new product Emerald v7.5 LE to the Asian market. Emerald offers digital archiving, HQS (High Quality Speed) transcoding and content management all on one common platform at breakthrough price-performance,” said Brad Redwood, vice president of international sales and marketing at Masstech Group.

Emerald performs efficient file-based archiving where scaling is not required. Like Topaz, Emerald LE comes with active integration to various end-points including video servers and NLE’s. As a standard built-in feature, Emerald integrates tightly into popular Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS) such as AP-ENPS and AVID’s iNEWS via Media Object Server (MOS) protocol. Using the iNEWS and AP-ENPS interfaces, newsroom staff can research archived content, search slugs linked to video archives, browse archived content, and quickly make shot selections without moving from their desk.

Packaged for out-of-the-box operation, the Emerald turnkey package includes server hardware, LTO library, software and first year’s support. Alternatively Emerald can be accessorized and built to order making for easy implementation.

Tailored for medium to large environments, Masstech’s Topaz delivers a feature-rich streamlined media asset management, with an embedded HQS transcoding engine and broadcast digital LTO archiving HSM (hierarchical storage management). Consolidating preparation, production and playout operations, Topaz integrates elegantly into existing environments. Topaz starts as a streamlined entry-level solution and scales to fully redundant enterprise systems.
