China independent production company Enlight Media, has entered a deal with Italian broadcaster RTI Mediaset, to produce a Chinese version of RTI’s children’s singing format Io Canto, set to air on Liaoning TV in January 2012.

Io Canto is a fresh new format based on the search to find the next young popstar. The show invites children aged between five and 16 years old to perform classic popular songs. The studio audience then votes for the performances they like.

Recently, Enlight has also been recommissioned by Liaoning TV to produce a second series of international format The X Factor and is continuing to produce the successful Clash of the Choirs for CCTV.
